Main Function Of Mica

Application of Mica in HDPE
The addition of mica to HDPE can also reduce the permeability of materials, so it is suitable for making all kinds of containers, such as automobile fuel tank and so on. The non-plane shear modulus of HDPE/ mica composites increases greatly with the increase of the aspect ratio of mica sheets, while the non-plane shear modulus decreases slightly. With the increase of the amount of mica powder, the tensile strength, bending strength and bending modulus of the composites increased.
Application of Mica Powder in ABS
ABS has been widely used in automotive, communications, electronics, national defense and other fields. After adding mica to ABS engineering plastics, the rigidity, wear resistance and chemical stability of ABS can be improved in different degrees. When 30% mica is added, compared with pure ABS, the production cost is reduced by about 20%, and the bending strength and tensile strength of the material are improved differently. When the content of mica is 20%, the bending modulus of the material is about twice that of pure ABS.
